Different Options...

Well, here it is a week or so after the problems we ran into...we've come a short way from how we felt when it all first happened. But, none the less, we've prevailed and made it through.

Bill is being pretty supportive but showing signs of exhaustion from the whole baby process...now, if the exhaustion was from a good thing that would be different...lol. I'm coming out of my shock and despair...slowly but surely.

So, these are the ideas we're having and bouncing around...

1. Independent Adoption- many people suggested to us that we consider an independent adoption from Taiwan. I'm reading up on that...

2. We could stay with our agency and wait it out.- As we understand it, it will be a LONG time before there are healthy infant referrals coming out of Chung Yi. I'm in the process of TRYING to contact our agency and find out what the scoop is on that.

3. Surrogate... most likely not an option for us as Bill's real leery of the whole thing.

4. We could switch agencies... also an option, but again something we have to investigate more.

So there ya have it...the ideas...it never hurts to have options and read up on things.

On a side note, my dad is doing really well... chemo is going good (he's not getting sick or anything with it). The only side effect he has is his hands and feet get sensitive to cold...so he has to wear gloves to get in the fridge. LOL! Poor guy... Bill and I are almost done with our degrees, should be after the Fall semester for Bill and Winter for me. I'll have a degree in Psychology and I'm looking into possibly trying to get a job with an agency here in Michigan.

So, that's it for now....I'll keep you all posted......
Blessings...
Gina

Wow, Gina! This is wonderful news!! I'm so glad you're looking into independent adoption...and surrogacy, very cool! Can't wait to hear the end of this one :)

I'm glad your dad is doing well. I'm an oncology nurse, so I know chemo can be a trial. Keep looking Up.

I'm so glad to hear you've got so many very good options ahead of you now - sure, they all involve time and patience and probably even some additional emotional ups and downs, but trust me - it will all be SO WORTH IT!! Good luck with all of your options!
